Be Quick To Experience The Quo!

Just a reminder that there are still tickets left for ‘The Quo Experience’ THIS Sat 18th Nov!

Tickets are selling fast… and for good reason! Serious talent is coming to The Beggar’s THIS SAT! You won’t want to miss it…

The Quo Experience is a new band on the Theatre scene that features the perfect tribute to the legendary duo of Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi to help keep the memory of one of the biggest Rock Gods of them all alive: The magic and chemistry that the Parfitt/Rossi partnership brought to a Quo ‘live’ performance, along with the incredible energy that Rick Parfitt added to the show, is being continued within The Quo Experience. Consequently, for both the loyal Quo fans who have been addicted to seeing the true Status Quo ‘live’ for the past 50yrs, along with those unlucky people who never managed to get around to experiencing the exhilaration of a Quo performance with both Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi on stage, this is your chance to continue or start getting your fix!

Charity Fashion Show this Saturday!!

Posted on: October 26, 2017 in the category latest by Cassie Day

Hey Guys, Just wanted to let you know that we have a Charity Fashion Show this weekend.

“A Skye Full of Stars Fashion Show” is in memory of our wonderful Angel, Skye Mitchell who sadly lost her life alongside the beautiful Caitlin Huddleston on July 14th this year, in a tragic car crash.  We all miss them both dearly.

‘A Skye Full of Stars’ is a charity being set up locally in Skye’s name.  Skye through her heart and soul into raising money for charities and sharing her enthusiasm for life throughout the community.  A talented and valued member of our youth theatre and integral member of our front of house dream team, we want to continue Skye’s legacy in helping others.

Myself and Skye’s family are setting up the charity in order to help other young people in Millom area to further themeslves.  More info on the charity will be posted once it is all official and people will be able to apply for financial help towards their future.

In the meantime, 3 years ago last week, Skye held her very own Fashion show at The Beggar’s to raise money for the charity ‘Children’s Variety’ and was the young ‘Miss Junior Cumbria’ and heading toward being a successful and much loved family member of “Miss England North” team.

We are holding a fashion show this Saturday, as it would have been Skye’s 19th birthday tomorrow, 25th October and to hold this in her memory is an honour for us.  We hope to raise as much money as we possibly can towards local young people but also to celebrate this beautiful girl’s short but amazing life.

We do hope that you will come along, or maybe if you can’t make it, you could donate by purchasing a ticket or buying a raffle ticket or two.

We have many great prizes and tickets are on sale at The Beggar’s from now until Sat evening.

Are you coming to tonight’s show?

Are you ready for some music this weekend?

The Fugitives are set to return to The Beggar’s Theatre with their brand new tour for 2017 this Friday 29th September 8pm!

Based in Vancouver The Fugitives last toured the UK and Europe in 2015 and return in 2017 to promote a new album. They bring brilliant musicianship, top-notch song-writing complex vocal harmonies and a funny uplifting vibe to their live performances!

Described as ‘the missing link between Leonard Cohen and The Pogues’, they have been nominated for Best Vocal Group at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, Best Roots Album at the Western Canadian Music Awards, opened for Canadian folk icon Buffy Sainte-Marie and also played a slot at Glastonbury Festival in 2014.

“Despite their all-acoustic lineup, the Fugitives bring enough energy to the stage to light up a small city… The East Van quartet conjures up a sound that’s like the missing link between Leonard Cohen, the Pogues, and the immortal Shorty Shitstain.” GEORGIA STRAIGHT

“The Fugitives are capable of achieving dizzying, Arcade Fire-ish crescendos, replete with parallel melodies, complex harmonies and brimming torrents of emotion.” UPTOWN MAGAZINE

“A sold-out crowd was fed harmonious chants and folksy carols…the music had us glued to our seats” SEE MAGAZINE

“The four part vocals are sensational…each of these Fugitives has the talent, voice and charisma to front their own band.” EDMONTON SUN
“This show is simply brilliant.” CBC
