Theatre and Drama classes cater for all levels from ‘playing’ at the young age of 2-4, 4-7 following with more structured exploration of Drama and Theatre at ages 7-11 with our seniors creating performances and learning through performance, devising and production.
All of our groups are about self confidence building, learning skills, team building and having fun. We enjoy putting on performances but the exploration of different genre, styles and interests are equally important in coming together as a group and having fun.
Having the Beggar’s Theatre and such wonderful touring shows coming to us, we are able to offer great opportunities for our young members in experience working at the Theatre, Front of House, Programming and Marketing. Lots of our Senior members work Front of House for both Theatre and Comedy and enjoy the opportunities of meeting famous names from TV and learn life skills ready for work after school. It also builds confidence and is invalid when going out for interviews for jobs and further education.
We also offer an Arts Awards opportunity where young people can work towards a qualification in the ARts at Bronze and Silver Level.
All of our leaders and facilitators are full DBS checked and our teachers/director are professionally trained with professional industry experience.
Theatre Director: Jakki Moore Central – School of Speech and Drama BA (Hons) in Drama and Education Class 2:1
WE also bring in artists to work with our young people. Other artists who work with us regularly are Gavin Stewart and Stacey Giles, both of whom began their teenage drama days with our company.
