SUMMER COMEDY NIGHTS IN MILLOM!
Manford’s Comedy Club returns to The Beggar’s Theatre this July!
The Beggars Theatre in Millom….the place in Cumbria to catch award-winning comedy.
Manford’s Comedy Club will be heading back up North on Saturday 21st July 2018 to put on a live comedy show featuring four hilarious comedians who are well-known names on both the comedy circuit and television and are all personally chosen by Jason Manford.
A message from Jason Manford…
“What a rollercoaster of a ride it’s been here at Manford’s Comedy Clubs where in the last two years we’ve employed over 260 comedians to entertain over 40,000 people in over 57 different locations around the country! From holiday parks to art centres and from bustling city centre nightclubs to quiet out of town theatres, we’ve certainly brought a lot of laughs to a lot of people! I started out with a simple philosophy; build it (make it really funny) and they will come!”
“I know how easy it is to do nothing, how easy it would be to sit and watch your favourite comedians on YouTube or Dave Ja Vu, but I know, and I think you know too, that there is simply, nothing like live. The thrill of being there is something that nothing can replicate, the excitement of watching a performer with your mates, colleagues or loved ones knowing that absolutely anything could happen and witnessing the magic that only happens there in that very moment; it’s why stand up comedy remains one of the best nights out you’ll ever have.”
Line up Includes:
“The Big Man of Northern comedy”, Steffen Peddie is an hilarious comedian from Newcastle upon Tyne. Before comedy Peddie was a professional wrestler for eight years. Along with Ross Noble, he wrote and performed sketches on ITV’s children’s Saturday Morning show Gimme 5, and is best-known for playing Big Keith in BBC2s sitcom Hebburn.
Andy White is an energetic and confident Brummie who escaped from a call centre to become a stand up comic, he mixes silly voices and faces with observational and topical humour and weaves in funny stories about his mixed race background.
He can do material that’s clever, cheeky or just silly and his performance can shift from deadpan to loud and physical with a devastating comic effect.
Only starting comedy in March 2016, Pete Selwood is a new up and comer on the comedy circuit, combining observational humour with his unique perspective as a minor disabled man in modern Britain. Very dry and unique humour.
This blunt-talking motormouth Geordie is the master of one-liners. He has supported such greats as Lee Evans, Jack Dee and Phill Jupitus on their tours. His style of comedy is loud, sharp and controversial – and audiences love him for it. His material is bold and provocative yet delivered in a charming manner – which has brought him much praise and attention. “Tough talking, no nonsense Geordie wit” – The Scotsman
